If you are in network marketing, you probably already realize that the internet can be a powerful tool. The problem is, most network marketers do not know how to use it to their advantage. At the Income From Home Network, we have all of the knowledge and skills to help you succeed online and off. This series, entitled, “How to Use the Internet to Build Your Network Marketing Business,” will guide you step by step to exploding your business.

The first thing that you must realize, is that not everyone is interested in becoming a network marketer or even in your awesome products. That is just fine. What you need to do, then, is to identify your target market. The more specific you are with this, the better. You want to be laser focused. Make a list of all of the characteristics of your ideal prospect–either as a business builder or as a customer, or both–whoever you want to attract to your network marketing business.

For instance, our company focuses on saving people lots of money on furniture, vehicles, jewelry, log homes, real estate transactions, communication, insurance, and more. Now, most people on the planet like to save money, but that doesn’t necessarily make them an ideal prospect. In attending the national conventions, I have observed that most of our best customers and business builders are couples with grown children who are planning major purchases for themselves and who like the flexibility of being able to help their families as well.

Also, people who are planning to buy or purchase a home, get married, or go on a much deserved vacation, make good prospects for our product. I could probably come up with a lot more, but the trick is to choose one of these target groups on which to focus.

You will be tempted to go broader, but please believe me when I tell you that in the online world, the more targeted your audience is, the more easily they are converted to a sale. It allows you to zero in on problems and concerns more directly if you know exactly to whom you are speaking.

So, your assignment, then, or mission, if you choose to accept it, is to pinpoint and define your target market. Next time I will show you how to do some very basic market research to find a profitable niche within that target market. I can’t wait, and neither should you.

Protect your Mind from the Recession News-Recession Proof business mindset for your Work at Home business!

We all know the phrase “garbage in, garbage out” in regard to computers but sometimes we think less about what kind of nourishment we are giving our minds.  The roots create the fruits.  The T.V. news, the newspaper, emails, and news on the Internet constantly bombards us with negativity. 

Building a home based business requires a significant amount of self motivation so the need to control what one puts into their mind is critical. Right now there is a large amount of negativity about keeping jobs, earning money, etc, if you do not become diligent in taking precautions you could be drawn in with the doomsayers and spend energy that could go into your home based business network, worrying about the economy.

Just becoming aware of what your are listening to, thinking about, reading and even talking about with others is a start.  Take some time each day to be quiet -build that into your  income from home network-and see where most of your thoughts have been that day.

Ask questions like: Are my thoughts empowering me to know and feel that I can achieve and reach my goals?  Is there a nagging worry that is pulling me down and keeping me from focusing on what I want to create?  Did I focus more today on what is or what is not happening in my business? 

Once you have some assessment of how well you’re doing in the setting your mindset up for success, create a strategy to improve what you want to make better. I have found in my work from home business that simple affirmations, which are positive statements stated in the first person in present tense about what I want to achieve are very powerful in switching my mind to where I want it to be.

If you use affirmations make sure you say them out loud and with feeling. Posting these on your bathroom mirror, keeping one in your coat pocket, and other places where you encounter it often will help train your brain to think win instead of lose. 

One other suggestion that is powerful is substitute watching the news and reading the newspaper with listening to a good CD or reading a good book on self empowerment. Lastly, be patient with yourself as you make this switch. If you find for example, givin up the news cold turkey creates too much stress, baby step it-just give up the 11:00 p.m. news-who needs to go to bed at night with one of the last things you hear and see being about bad news. 

People are attracted to your home based business because of you.  What comes out from you is a result of what you put into you, so be careful each day to feed your mind the good not the bad news and doom and gloom.

There is plenty of historical precedent for us believing that even in the midst of a national economic hard time that plenty of millionaires will be made. Why not be one of them.  

Focus on what you want, not what you don’t want for your home network-the income from your home based business will follow!
