Complexity seems to describe most of our lives. From two parents working, to singles being involved in many activities, to the retiree who says I am busier now than I was when I had a full time job, the feeling of being overstretched and not having or taking the time to create fun and play some days seem a thing of the past already. So for many, although needing some additional income is critical, the thought of adding another layer to crazy lives seems daunting and more stressful. I propose that a work at home business can be and should be something that moves us toward balance, joy and even simplicity in the areas of life we desire. It is important to examine what we perceive currently about the best money making system from home and how our lives might fit and still create what we all want which is less stress and more balance while creating some significant income!

For many a home based business may conjure up ideas of employees, bookkeeping, storing product and other images that certainly don’t move toward balance or a step toward simplifying some of the hecticness of life. Moms who stay home with children, for example, may already be stressed to the maximum with children demands but need a work at home business that allows a money making system that can work around their lives. Are there money making systems that allow people to add a work at home business and not add stress to their lives? I believe asking this question and evaluating its importance is critical for the stability and success of moms making money at home or really anyone. There are many reasons why businesses fail, but one of the top ones for home based businesses is that the money making system is not simple enough for the long term to fit into what is already priority in our lives. In contrast, the best money making system is simple to carry out on a day-today basis, takes very little time to implement, and provides significant, measurable results.

Here are a few evaluation questions to ask when looking at a work at home business that might help assess if this is a business that will fit into your current lifestyle or help you create or maintain the lifestyle you want and deserve. First is to evaluate how much nooks and crannies time can you come up with that you could put into a work at home business? If you want to be one of the moms working making money from home, where and how, without letting go of your top priorities, can you put in the hours and how many? After you have determined your time available, then take a look at your work at home business idea or any company you might be considering partnering with and ask questions such as: Are there time limits and quotas for my work in order to get paid? Does the company or home based business I am envisioning require space for me to store a product, etc? If space is an issue do I have that space or if I have that space will adding that to my home help me create what I want in the end or will that particular money making system just add more stress if I am dealing with stocking product, moving it to a buyer, etc? If your work at home business is with a company, you might want to also evaluate the support systems available through the company -are there others who can work with you on a day when the moms making money from home seems like the last thing you can schedule in but you have created some work that needs to be done.
