I want to tell you a short story about my life, and how it’s changed. I’m taking the time to do this because I think there are a lot of people out there like me, looking for something different, for more freedom and free time, and more opportunities to contribute to the lives of our children and our communities.

I was a successful modeling and simulation engineer with a highly paid skill job with a major defense company. My husband and I were newly married, and life was good. The two of us both traveled extensively with our jobs, but it was exciting and fun.

Then we decided to start a family – and the travel became a real burden. When we started handing the kids off in the airport, it was clear that something needed to change.

I decided to start my own business. I thought that by doing that I would have more time to devote to the children – and in the beginning that was true.

My business was highly successful, and began to grow rapidly. Suddenly there were employees to handle, interoffice politics to sort out, and a continuous stream of new clients to initiate and maintain. Although the travel was gone, the hours that I needed to dedicate to my business spiraled out of control, and I was back in the same situation that I’d begun the business to escape.

It was clear, once again, that something had to change. I wanted to be a work from home mom, with fewer hours required by the job, while still earning a decent wage. I began looking for something else, although I didn’t know at that something else was at the time. I merely knew that I needed to make a change. I began to pray, and to look.

The “other opportunity”, as it is with so many things, came from an unexpected source. I friend from church told me that she and her husband were working on something that they were really excited about, and she asked for an opportunity to discuss it with me. We made an appointment – and that appointment changed everything for me.

It was clear that the “opportunity” that they offered me was a legitimate home based business. I could see the possibility of saving money on our monthly bills from the start – and that was what interested me more than anything else. We got in, and soon the savings were evident in the family budget.

As it became more and more clear that this business was working for us, I became more and more excited about the opportunity I’d been given, and started to share the blessing that I’d received with others. Offering others the opportunity that I’d been given was a natural thing to do, and seeing this opportunity make a difference for others was greatly rewarding.

I’m well on my way to becoming a full time work from home mom. I’m earning lots of money – enough in my part time activities that I’m busily arranging the sale of my own highly successful business. I’m looking forward to the leisure that this will afford me, the time with my family, and the increased opportunities to share this wonderful experience with others. I’ve been blessed, and I’m looking to pass the blessing on to others.
